Pricing & Tagging Guidelines
All tags must be uploaded to the website and printed by NOON Tuesday, February 28th.
*NO EXCEPTIONS*
Clothing
- Make items look as new as possible. Spray & wash, OxyClean, Goo Gone, Mother's Miracle, even bleach go a long way. Wash (hot water if necessary), iron and replace any missing buttons and easy fix its.
- Zip up zippers and button all buttons when pinning to hangers. It looks nicer and helps make sure nothing is missing.
- Sets can sell better and if you have a lot of items this can reduce your total items. Make sure all pieces are the same size.
- When hanging an outfit or set, hang shirt and pin so it does not move on hanger (pins should go through both sides of garment (front & back) then turn shirt around and pin pants or other garment to shoulders of shirt. Pin through pants and through shirt, both sides.
- Hang clothes on hangers - do not use ziploc bags.
- Selling more than one item together as one can be useful especially if items are similar (such as onesies, pants, pjs). EIther pin one then pin others to the back at the shoulder or pin each to a hanger and rubber band all together.
- It is always to your advantage to pin as firm and secure as possible. Pin so the item does not slide on hanger much. This ensures clothes will not fall off or be accessible to theft.
Toys, Shoes, Books, and Other Non-Clothing Items
- Make sure items are in good condition - toys need to work properly, no rips, tears, or excessive fading & all parts are included.
- Use clear packing tape to affix tags. DO NOT TAPE OVER BARCODE!
- Small items can be put in ziploc bags (size accordingly). Tape the top of the ziploc bag so it is closed securely. Tape tag on outside of bag with clear packing tape (not covering barcode).
- Items that require batteries will sell better if working batteries are put in them so buyers can test them and see what they do.
- SHOES - put in ziploc bags. No boxes. Not excessively worn. Tape top of bag and tape tag on outside (not covering barcode). Make sure laces are included and in good condition.
- Non-acetone nail polish remover can help remove some ink or marker stains.
- Armour All can help restore luster to some plastic and metal.
- FURNITURE - needs to be unassembled but bound together (saran wrap and packing tape wrap well). Take a picture of item assembled and tape next to tag. Helps buyer know how it looks!
- Bedding, blankets, etc can be put in bedding bags if they are clear or large/XL ziploc bags.
- BOOKS - put multiple books in ziploc bags (tape top of bag; tape tag, not covering barcode)
- Single books tape tag to back so not to tear cover.
- DVD's, CD's, Tapes, Video Games need to be in original cases. Tape entirely to close. Tape tag to back, not covering barcode.
